We are a UK charity (reg 1115213) based at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church Worcester. We are trying to raise funds for street children in Bombay, India. The shelter is run by Barnabe D'Sousa, a member of the Salesian Order. The shelter offers a home to 200 street boys between the ages of 4 to... And tries to get their young lives back on track after the traumatic experience of living on the streets. Besides providing very basic food and shelter, there are many programs to help the boys rebuild their lives. Suitable boys are helped to return to school and others to learn a trade. For many, the street is where they discovered drugs. These boys are helped to kick the habit at a centre run by the shelter near Bombay. The shelter runs a child line. The little boy in the picture, aged 5, was reunited with his mother after being on the streets of Bombay for 3 years. Your donation will help to fund and expand this work. | ||||
